Houston Astros have a problem and it’s that they just cannot seem to win at home. Whether it is the regular season, the postseason, or the ALCS, the pattern remains the same. Hence, when the Astros lost at home again to the Texas Rangers, it was not much of a surprise. Still, David Ortiz who until now felt that Astros would win the ALCS began doubting his stand.

As Game 6 of the ALCS ended with a massive defeat to the Astros, the experts and fans wondered whether this was turning into a pattern of sorts for the Astros. Coming back Home after dominating the Rangers at their Home in the past 3 games, the Astros needed just one win. But they couldn’t grab that feat. As a matter of fact, the way the Rangers were able to fight back has left the fans and experts worried.

Houston Astros are starting to worry Big Papi

In the last 3 games, the Houston Astros had convincing wins. This powerful streak was formed after they lost their first 2 games and it showed their quality and grit. Thus, turning into Game 6 leading the series 3-2 , fans were hopeful that Astros would put this series to rest. Alas! That wasn’t the case and they were left disappointed.

Not only did the Astros fail to win but the Rangers defeated them in a manner that few had expected. The final score being Astros 2 Ranger 9 which despite few remarkable performances from Astros couldn’t bag them any dominance on the home turf. Now, after this big defeat, David Ortiz has come forth with a concerning statement.

The 47-year-old spoke worriedly as he said, “But today I’m kind of worried for real about the Houston because it made not sense. It made no sense how they play over there at Texas.”

He continued to mention how unexpected the outcome of the game was. This allowed Big Papi to mention, “They execute how their offense just went off, and all of a sudden they come back home winning the series three or two just to put this to bed. And then all of a sudden they can hit they can’t. I mean. I don’t even know how to explain it.”

It was then that Derek Jeter chipped in and noticed how this has been a pattern for the Astros as he remarked, “this is a real problem for them in my opinion, because it’s not a week, it’s not a month, it’s not a half of a year. This is a full season.” Well! Derek Jeter is right; the Astros’ Home record is bad. Not only have they lost every home game in ALCS till now but have won just 7 of their last 28 games.
