Earlier in 2021, A-Rod, with his billionaire friend Marc Lore, bought an NBA franchise, the Minnesota Timberwolves. And it has only become bigger since then. Talking about the ownership in sports, A-Rod said that in the next 10-15 years, buying any NBA or NFL franchise will not be easy.
?I think in the next 10-15 or 20 years, you won’t be able to buy an NFL or NBA franchise for less than five billion dollars. And why? This has been driven by TV ratings,? Alex ?A-Rod? Rodriguez said. ?Gaming is an international sport. Tremendous growth! Incredible leadership from Adam Silver and Mark Tatum… If you look at the numbers in the NBA, they have been fantastic.?
One may not like Alex Rodriguez for many unknown reasons. But he does have one of the wisest minds in the sporting world. If not, he would not have been the wealthiest person in baseball.
