Supporters of the couple even came up with a nickname for them by fusing their two names. The most popular and widely used nickname was J-Rod. But one Houston Astros star was unimpressed and suggested a new nickname that he thought was better.

Alex Rodriguez and Jennifer Lopez had millions of fans as a couple. During their time together, many of these supporters referred to A-Rod and J.Lo as J-Rod, a nickname for the couple. But Houston Astros star Alex Bregman was unimpressed by the nickname and suggested an alternative during a 2017 interview. The Astros’ star said that he preferred the nickname A-Lo over J-Rod. This was an interesting suggestion for the nickname. 

According to US Magazine, Bregmen said, “Hmm. I like A-Lo better. I like it the other way. I’m into that. I’ll buy it.” The Astros’ third baseman genuinely thought that A-Lo was a better nickname for the couple.

A-Rod and JLo were at the height of their fame as a couple and had just started dating that year. Fans were loving their relationship, and the couple looked happy. They continued dating and even got engaged in March 2019, but they eventually broke up in April 2021. There were many reasons surrounding their breakup, with rumors of A-Rod’s infidelity pushing J.Lo over the edge.

In an official joint statement, Alex Rodriguez and Jennifer Lopez announced their split. They said that they are better as friends and would remain that, even after breaking up. But sources close to the couple said that the relationship had grown strained during the COVID lockdown. Furthermore, a breakup had been inevitable for a while at that point. There were also rumors of J.Lo being unable to handle even the rumors of A-Rod’s infidelity, even if untrue.
