Alex Reyes’ comeback has fans optimistically cautious

The Dodgers have given Reyes an opportunity to prove that he has fully recovered from his injuries and that he still possesses the same fire that once made him a phenom on the diamond. 

The deal, which is reportedly worth $1.1 million with a $3 million club option for 2024, is loaded with performance bonuses that could escalate the value of the contract up to an astonishing $10 million, according to a tweet by Juan Toribio.

Alex Reyes was highly coveted in his prime. However, fate had other ideas, and injury after injury took its toll on Reyes. Although despite the challenges he faced, he had a breakthrough year in 2021, showcasing his excellence on the mound with a striking 3.24 ERA and 95 strikeouts in just 72 ⅓ innings. 

Unfortunately, the next season was not so kind to Reyes, as he was forced to sit out the entire 2022 season due to shoulder issues that required season-ending surgery. But now, he has been given a chance to make a triumphant comeback, to once again take the mound and prove that he is still the same phenom that captured the hearts of fans and teams alike.
