The retired shortstop recently attended the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game and while he didn’t shoot hoops himself, he had some fun of his own. A-Rod is part owner of the Minnesota Timberwolves and has an avid interest in basketball. Alex Rodriguez hits the jackpot as he indulges in an old habit

Rodriguez may be known as one of the best pro baseballers in the world, but his life was not without issues. From accusations of PED usage to involvement in the Biogenesis scandal, A-Rod’s name is tainted despite his talent. But among the many controversies he has been associated with, gambling is another one.

In 2011, there were reports of an illegal game involving drugs, Alex Rodriguez, and other celebrities. Not only that, but violence broke out and while there was no evidence of A-Rod’s involvement, MLB decided to investigate anyway.

The incident blew over soon because of a lack of concrete evidence, so one can’t blame the former Yankee for indulging in an old hobby. Now that he’s retired, Rodriguez is not beholden to anyone as long as rules of decorum are followed.
