Despite a career unachievable to many, Yankees icon Alex Rodriguez might never get inducted into the prestigious Cooperstown. The former baseball player knows this fact and has now come to terms with it as well. But the want of being a Hall of Famer might one day never goes away either.
Keeping aside the numbers he put in, his career was a pretty controversial one. He has broken the rules that need to be followed by a potential Hall of Famer. Rodriguez has now lost out on what might be the biggest achievement of his as a baseball player.

Had he not taken PEDs during the time he played, he might have gotten into Cooperstown in his first year on the ballot. He constantly reminds the young athletes to learn from the mistakes he made and be better. Also, he once said that his not getting inducted is not stopping him to be a Hall of Famer even if he does not get to become an MLB Hall of Famer.

“Whether I get in or not — and let’s be clear, I want to get in, I hope I get in, I pray I get in — if I don’t, I think I have a bigger opportunity yet again,” said Alex four years ago in an interview with ET. He also added, “maybe I’m not a Hall of Fame player, but I get a chance to be a Hall of Fame dad, a Hall of Fame friend.”

Alex knows what he has done and understands the complications that came with it. He is somehow on terms with not becoming an MLB Hall of Famer.
When did Alex take PEDs that cost him his induction?
Beginning in 2001, Alex took PEDs for three years and also got tested for them in 2003. The report came out in 2009. It had several other names on the list who got tested positive for taking PEDs. For this, Alex did not have to face any punishment.

But then, in 2013, his name came up in the Biogenesis scandal. Consequently, he got suspended from MLB for 162 games.
