Alex Rodriguez has dated several high-profile women over the years. Both during his baseball career and post-retirement. But his relationship with pop icon Jennifer Lopez gained the most media attention. Although their relationship fell apart in four years, A-Rod went beyond expectations with a special gesture for his then-girlfriend JLo.

A-Rod once talked about the proposal and all the planning that went into it. And he focussed on a specific detail that he wanted to be perfect no matter what.

Alex Rodriguez revealed the details of his proposal for JLo and the preparation that went into it

During his appearance on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon in 2019, Alex Rodriguez talked in detail about proposing to JLo. The former Yankee mentioned he had been planning it for 6 months. He further said that he had to practice the proposal for three days in a row before the actual thing. This was because he wanted the sunset to be perfect during the moment. So while he was in the Bahamas on vacation with JLo, he was actually practicing to get it right.

While on the Jimmy Fallon show, he said, “I rehearsed three days in a row because I wanted the sunset to be perfect.” He went out with his assistant and checked for the sunset to see what the perfect time would be. According to A-Rod, “One time the sunset was at 6:27. The next day it was 6:29 and then the third day it was raining.” But the Yankee star eventually decided on 6:29 and the proposal was beautiful.

The two were engaged and looked set for a long future together. But fate had other plans as the two split up in April 2021 after 4 years of being together. The two went their separate ways and decided they were better as friends. It was unfortunate that the two were unable to find happiness together, but it looks like they have both moved on.

Both Alex Rodriguez and Jennifer Lopez are in relationships right now. Lopez got back together with ex-fiance Ben Affleck shortly after the split with A-Rod and is now married to the actor. Funnily enough, A-Rod almost met JLo and Affleck once while on vacation.

The Yankee star has been in multiple relationships since the breakup with JLo and is currently seeing Canadian fitness expert Jaclyn Cordeiro. According to Page Six, Cordeiro and A-Rod were first spotted together in mid-October. The two have been together since then and seem happy together.
