Notably, his father, Victor Rodriguez, abandoned him at the age of ten, along with his mother and siblings. Eventually, his mother started working two shifts a day to make ends meet. Until A-Rod made it to the major leagues and started earning a big buck. Analogous to that, Alex Rodriguez once made a bold oration that exhibited his love for his daughters back in 2021, and the trauma that originated from the event of his father leaving.

Alex Rodriguez makes a beautiful promise to his two daughters

Back in 2021, Alex Rodriguez appeared on ‘Call Him Papi’ with David Ortiz and Jared Carrabis. On the show, he spoke about the love he had for his daughters and shared clips about the same after the conclusion of the interview. He started off by saying, “From the moment that I became a father, 16 years ago, to Natasha and then Ella, that is like first, second and third in my life, and part of it is you got to work at it.”

He went on to add, “It’s going to be a priority. There’s nothing more important than those little girls.”

He uploaded a clip from the show on his Instagram handle, where he said, “My father left when I was 10 and I was heartbroken, so I made myself a promise if I ever got a chance to be a father and I’m lucky enough… I won’t f*ck it up like my father did. #Tashi #Ella,”

Finally, he talked about a breakfast club he started with his daughters every Saturday, where they sit without any electronic devices and recap. A-Rod shared, “No phones, no iPad. Just let’s connect and recap. That’s really important to me and just watching them develop is so rewarding.”

A-Rod’s failed marriage

Notably, shortstop Alex Rodriguez and Cynthia Scurtis married in 2002. The couple had two children, Natasha and Ella. However, A-Rod’s marriage with Cynthia Scurtis didn’t work out. And the couple’s divorce became official in 2008 after Cynthia cited “emotional abandonment” as the main reason.

But, their divorce has never come in between A-Rod’s dynamics with his two daughters. Moreover, A-Rod has often spoken about how he would never treat his daughters the way his father treated him.
