Alex Rodriguez still yearns to play baseball. The New York Yankees legend has stayed in touch with the game through his broadcasting career. But the desire to play has never died down. Most recently, A-Rod expressed this desire again while reliving a significant career milestone eight years ago. The ex-Yankee opened up about his career while visiting Lake Como, his ex-fiancee Jennifer Lopez’s honeymoon spot with Ben Affleck, a few days back.

Rodriguez slipped away from the game in 2016 after terminating his contract with the Yankees. It was a sad ending for one of baseball’s greatest players. Furthermore, he was unable to end it on his terms. A-Rod recently expressed that he missed the game and MLB fans while celebrating the anniversary of a massive milestone.

Alex Rodriguez shares his yearning for the game while reliving the moment of his 3000th career hit

As a hitter, A-Rod was among the best. Both his ability to make contact and hit for power were among the best during his career. Most recently, an Instagram account, nyyhistory celebrated the 8th anniversary of A-Rod reaching 3000 hits. The legend himself re-shared this post in his Instagram Story while expressing his thoughts. In the story, A-Rod wrote, “Miss playing ball and the great Yankees fans”. He also said, “8 years ago today…”, acknowledging the anniversary of his milestone. Eight years ago, not only did he achieve his 3000th career hit, but also hit another milestone.

Looking back on the golden past, on June 19th, 2015, Rodriguez became the 29th Major Leaguer to reach 3000 hits. Furthermore, he did it in style by hitting a home run off of Justin Verlander.

A-Rod is raising awareness regarding gum disease

Toward the end of May, Alex Rodriguez revealed he was diagnosed with early-stage gum disease. It was a surprising discovery for the Yankees legend, as he had a routine dentist appointment. But Rodriguez is bravely facing his diagnosis and spreading awareness about oral health. Furthermore, he is continuing to live his life to the fullest. The condition is incurable; A-Rod can only manage it with the proper treatment. Luckily, he was able to catch it in its early stages.
