1985, a year that will forever be etched in the memories of the former New York Yankees shortstop, Alex Rodriguez. But, not for a good reason! His father, Victor Rodriguez, disappeared all of a sudden when he was just 10. Young Rodriguez waited for Victor to come back, but only for his hopes to be shattered.
“I thought he was coming back. I thought he had gone to the store or something. But he never came back,” A-Rod revealed back in 2013. “He had been so good to me, actually spoiling me because I was the baby of the family. I couldn’t understand what he had done. I still don’t know how a man could do that to his family: turn his back.”
Despite the profound absence of his father in his own life, Rodriguez later found the strength and motivation to become an exceptional father to his own daughters: Natasha and Ella. After a prolific career, the 49-year-old now enjoys a happy life, dedicated to instilling strong values in his daughters. On Father’s Day yesterday, A-Rod made a confession that’s surely going to resonate with many.

Sharing a video on his Instagram handle on June 15, Rodriguez wrote a heartfelt message: “Happy Father’s Day! Being a dad is one of the greatest joys of my life. Thankful for Ella & Natasha every day. #girldad #fathersday.”
Well, for any professional sportsperson, life is not always about the scoreboard and stats, it’s much more than that. As can be seen in the video itself, when asked about a lasting memory, A-Rod highlighted two things: sharing the win with his daughters, and the unwavering support of the best fans in the world: the New York Yankees fans.

A-Rod recently opened up about his daughters on The Jennifer Hudson Show as well, sharing the most important life-lesson he taught them: “You are going to make mistakes, but you have got to get back up and get back up to the plate like you are ready to go again.”

Rodriguez had a decorated career, where he posted 696 home runs and batted at a .285 average with 3115 hits to his name. While he might not have been inducted into the Hall of Fame, he holds a giant stature in the game. But what about his personal life?
About Alex Rodriguez’s wife, his daughters, and more
Before his well-publicized relationships with various celebrities, Rodriguez was married to Cynthia Scurtis. They tied the knot in 2002, several years after meeting at a Miami gym.
While A-Rod was at the peak of his baseball career, Scurtis worked a psychology teacher. They welcomed two daughters, Ella and Natasha, before their divorce in 2008. Even though their separation was difficult, both A-Rod and Cynthia prioritized their children, committing to effective co-parenting.

Both of Rodriguez’s daughters are, interestingly, very fond of music. Natasha even performed the national anthem at LoanDepot Park for a Phillies vs. Marlins game, that too wearing her dad’s jersey no. 13. A-Rod could not be happier.
