The New York Yankees were once at the top of the AL East, but now they’ve fallen behind because of a breakdown in June. Where are they lacking? The hot corner. Amid this, Alex Rodriguez’s bat, which has hit 696 homers from that same corner, is yet again making the sound.

The Yankees’ recent sweep of the Blue Jays has fans questioning their playoff chances with growing frustration. All they want is the team to win. And fans have now started urging A-rod to suit up again. But isn’t he retired? Well, yes, but a recent video has got everyone talking.

A single swing caught on social media was all it took to set off the Bronx. Alex Rodriguez, the Yankees’ famous No. 13, walked back into the batter’s box for the first time since August 12, 2016. And the sound from that bat was ” Magic!” and all he wishes is to get a chance one more time on the plate.

His clip of hitting the fastballs got supporters fired up, who are sick of seeing back-to-back losses. The timing couldn’t be better with the Yankees struggling to hit.

The offense, which was great in April with an OPS of .829, fell to a season-low 2.9 runs per game and 10 losses in 15 games. Even big hitters like Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton have gone cold. And clutch hitting with runners in scoring position has dropped to a terrible .142.

The hot corner is at the center of it all, and it’s on fire. Since Gleyber Torres is no longer with the team and Oswaldo Cabrera is out with an injury, the Yankees have moved DJ LeMahieu and Jazz Chisholm Jr. around, but neither is a good fit. LeMahieu’s batting average is only .254, and his OPS is only .664. Chisholm, on the other hand, is expected to perform better at 2B.

And now the Yankees are actively searching the market as the trade deadline looms. The urgency is not only at the front office but also among the fans. And with Rodriguez’s “Wish I was back in the Bronx wearing #13 in my pinstripes,” post has got the comment section brewing.

What’s your perspective on:

Could A-Rod's return be the spark the Yankees need to reignite their playoff hopes?

Fan reactions: Not only A-Rod but the Bronx wishes to watch him back on the plate

Several reactions poured into Alex Rodriguez‘s video. Is it possible that the third baseman who was once eternal could come back? Because they are already rooting for it. “You’d easily be our best option at third if you threw in the uniform tomorrow.” Even in retirement, he is beloved, and his hitting skills are unmatched—a quality the Yankees seem to be missing.

Singing the same song, a fan chimed in. “I’m pretty sure you can play 3B right now my man.” It’s the frustration. After the injury to Oswaldo Cabrera, the Yanks experimented, but no one has shown that level of consistency.  Results? Umm… the losses!

A humble request! “Can you please teach Anthony Volpe how to hit.” Anthony Volpe is struggling this season. In June, he hit just .194/.242/.339, which is a big decrease from his .239/.319/.429 lines at the end of May.

Not only players, but the man with the blueprint, Aaron Boone, is also coming under the radar. “Manage the Yankees. We’ve hit rock bottom.” Alex Rodriguez as manager? Not a bad idea, he was a part of the 2009 World Series.

The Bronx is looking for a 3B, and A-Rod is posting his clip, a coincidence. “Reports Yankees are in the market for a 3B appear recently and now A Rod picks up a bat for the first time in 9 years? Come home, A Rod!” Looks like a scene written by baseball Gods! A reminder, once the hot corner was fueled with energy, and now it’s trembling.
