As the big news goes, Judge has now become the latest New York Yankees’ captain. This responsibility previously belonged to the legendary Derek Jeter until eight years ago. Jeter became the Yankees captain in 2003 and held the position until his retirement in 2014. Interestingly, Judge received a surprise visit from Jeter at his public announcement press conference. However, often outspoken A-Rod is yet to say a word on this matter.

Alex Rodriguez stays quiet as Derek Jeter meets Aaron Judge

Rodriguez constantly spoke about Judge’s MLB future during this year’s MLB season. But it isn’t something new for ‘A-Rod’ regarding the topic of Judge. Ever since Judge stepped on the MLB platform has proven his mettle, the former Yankee has remained loud-mouthed in the slugger’s appreciation. In fact, ‘A-Rod’ repeatedly mentioned the necessity for the Yankees to re-sign Judge, as the megastar slugger approached the free agency period.

Therefore, Rodriguez’s quietness over the latest developments in Judge’s career has sent out an awkward vibe. Meanwhile, ‘A-Rod’ recently posted an Instagram reel of himself with his girlfriend Jaclyn Cordeiro enjoying a date. They were eating out at the luxurious Soho Lounge. But there were no mentions of either Judge or Jeter on his social media handle.

On the other hand, Jeter showed up at Judge’s press conference to bless his successor. Thus, Jeter passed the torch to Judge for a royal responsibility of an elite team. Moreover, Jeter even made a post on his Twitter account, congratulating Judge. According to a report by the Daily Record, speaking on Judge’s ascension, Jeter said, “I don’t really look at it as a new role, (it’s) a new title.”

Interestingly, ‘A-Rod’ did not send out good wishes to Jeter, even at the latter’s jersey retirement ceremony. Notably, a controversial interview by Rodriguez in 2001 led to a fallout between the two MLB legends. Though much has changed for good since then, and ‘A-Rod’ also later congratulated Jeter on his Hall Of Fame induction. However, it’s the present stillness on Rodriguez’s part that has brought back speculations about persisting bad blood with Jeter.

They’re not only great players, but great ambassadors of the game and of the New York Yankees. I’m here to embrace every single obstacle and continue to lead this team…to not one, but multiple championships down the road.”
