Born in New Jersey and brought up in Kalamazoo, Michigan, MLB great Derek Jeter has only rooted for one baseball team his whole life, i.e., New York Yankees. And once he retired from his playing career, Jeter also led the Miami Marlins’ operations while being the CEO of the National League franchise. So, given his tenures at the Marlins, one would imagine Miami would be Jeter’s favorite away ballpark. However, to everyone’s surprise, that is not the case.

Although there is no doubt that nothing will top Yankee Stadium for the Pinstripes legend. But believe it or not, one would be shocked to hear Jeter’s favorite stadium for very obvious reasons. Any guesses? Let’s find out what did he say!

Apparently, Derek Jeter loved to play in Anaheim

Having played his entire career for the Yankees, one might think that the away stadium he would like the most must be either his hometown team Detroit Tigers’ turf, or of Marlins’ turf, where he lives and also was a CEO for a few years. But in Jeter’s own words, the away stadium he liked to play the most is Anaheim, the home stadium for the Los Angeles Angels.?

Recently, while talking to GQ Sports, Jeter said, “Anaheim.” Being shocked by his answer, the interviewee asked the reason behind it. To which the Hall of Famer said, “I love Anaheim. I like Anaheim cause the weather’s perfect, field conditions were unbelievable, 90 percent of the fans were Yankees fans anyway.”?

Jeter’s grandparents are the reason behind his love for the Yanks

During his childhood, Jeter with his sister Sharlee used to spend their summers with their grandparents in New Jersey. His father is also one of the reasons that he chose baseball as his career. But New Jersey was the place where he fell in love with the Yankees.?
