Now that he does not play baseball anymore, it is so rare to get a glimpse of Derek Jeter. Most recently, Captain Clutch came out of his character to announce the birth of his fourth kid. Shortly after doing so, he went back into his character for the promotion of the then-upcoming Turn 2 Foundation’s invitational Gala. Notably, it’s been almost two weeks since the Gala event took place. It was such a big and successful event that it is still being talked about despite days after it got over. 

The second day of the Gala was for celebrities only, and one of the activities on the day was a golf tournament. During this time, Jeter adorably answered some questions about his personal life, specifically his kids. There, the New York Yankees legend revealed the name of a celebrity he wouldn’t let babysit his kids.

Who is Derek Jeter the most cautious about his kids?

When the interviewer first asked Derek to name the person at the golf tournament about babysitting, he simply said, “Most everyone at the golf tournament.”

However, he then went to say the name of Entourage actor, Kevin Connolly. But the MLB great wasn’t fully convinced by his answer. Hence, removing Connolly, he named a former teammate, 10x Gold Glove Award winner, Andruw Jones. Talking about Jones, while staring right at Jones, Jeter said, “I wouldn’t let Andruw Jones babysit my kids.” 

For those unversed, Jones played two seasons of his 17-year baseball career as a New York Yankee beside Captain Clutch. Jones is a parent to two adult kids, and somehow it also isn’t enough for Jeter to get convinced of his as a babysitter for his four kids.

What else did Jeter talk about at the event?

The interviewer, before asking Jeter about his kids’ babysitting, asked about his phone’s wallpaper. And not to be surprised, it was his family’s picture from 2022 when the NYY honored him for his HOF induction. About the picture, Derek said he wants to make it a tradition in his family. He wants to make it happen by going there every year and clicking a picture. He especially wants the newest addition, his son, Kaius Green Jeter, to be added to it soon.

In another scene, Jeter could be seen having a rather funny conversation with pro golfer Paige Spiranac and NFL legend Michael Strahan.
