Earlier on Sunday, when the Mets were playing against the Miami Marlins, controversial umpire Angel Hernandez ejected the Mets ace, Max Scherzer, from the bench. And this is the second instance when Scherzer got ejected from the bench this season.

Max Scherzer was furious with umpire Angel Hernandez over his harsh decision

Per Newsday.com, in a dominating 9-3 win over the Marlins, Max Scherzer expressed his anger from the dugout over an umpiring call that the Mets skipper Showalter did not like. And he got so furious that the on-field umpire Angel Hernandez ejected him from the bench.

Notably, Scherzer got ejected from the bench for the second time this season. Earlier in May, the Mets ace argued on behalf of his teammate Dominic Smith and faced ejection. Not to forget that Scherzer was not playing that day, either.

When reporters asked about the same to Scherzer, who was on his way out of the ballpark after the game, he just laughed and said, “Angel strikes again.” On the other hand, the Mets skipper appreciated Max Scherzer for his action. Showalter said, “he is a beauty.”

The Mets slugger reacts to Scherzer’s ejection

While addressing the media, the Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo joked about his teammate’s ejection. He said, “That was nice of him… I don’t know it was a weird situation. I am not sure about the field rule so I can’t really speak to it. But what I was told is that it was stuck underneath.”

When talking about the Mets, they are in the same category as the Dodgers and Astros, who are favorites to win the championship this season.
