After a failed New York Mets bid, the former pro baseballer looked to the basketball world. Teaming up with the CEO of Jet.com, Marc Lore, he gained part ownership of the NBA team, Minnesota Timberwolves. Over the years, A-Rod has gotten closer to the players and recently even joined one of them at a game courtside.

So when Rodriguez was in the process of buying the Timberwolves, a reporter naturally assumed that Edwards knew who he was and was possibly even a fan. But his response?
