Players do not only become idols only through their contributions to the sports. Sometimes, their heartwarming gestures towards society heighten their image. Fans consider both sides to acknowledge someone as an idol. Many baseball stars, including Roberto Clemente, Derek Jeter, and Alex Rodriguez, dedicated themselves to improving society. Started in 2012, the Anthony Rizzo Family Foundation has devoted itself to the noble cause of helping children fight cancer. This year, they take the oath to make the holidays memorable for them. So, the organization is collecting funds to present gifts to the children according to their wishes. The foundation currently has 100 adopted children, and they receive wishlists from each family. As a non-profit organization, they just need some help to succeed in their dream. So, the Yankees slugger appealed to fans to purchase gifts from the given Amazon link on the post. This will help them collect funds and purchase gifts for the children to make them happy.

Once they get all the gifts, their aim is to wrap them beautifully and “sent to the families to place under their trees.” As a cancer survivor, the baseball star understands the process and the requirements well. Per him, “Battling a life-threatening illness gave me the resilience and tenacity to go after my dreams.??He established the foundation “to support other young warriors and families in their time of need.?

They even contribute their funds to support the families to pay education expenses and transportation fares while the kid is in the hospital.

About this collaboration, the hospital authorities said, “Anthony Rizzo?s story is a great inspiration for our children at CHAM. We are so fortunate to have such a generous and gracious champion, both on and off the baseball field, just a few subway stops from the hospital.?

Sometimes off-game contributions shine more brightly, and Rizzo’s work is setting that example.

Growing up in a family where sports was a topic of daily discussion, baseball drew my interest the most. I admired the post-retirement journey of Alex Rodriguez and the rise of Shohei Ohtani and Elly De La Cruz to stardom in the current baseball generation. Forever enamored by Bryce Harper and the way his career is progressing, I love covering most East Coast teams. When not writing, you can always find me at the library, buried between the pages of a book. “There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so,” from Shakespeare’s Hamlet is a favorite for me. When not surrounded by words, I’m usually in the battlefields of COD and Fortnite!
