He was so actively involved in the team that he ended up getting a nickname “The Boss”.

His zeal for Yankees to always have the best players led to him aggressively pursuing players. Hence, naturally, people wonder what he would do today to get his hands on Shohei Ohtani, the biggest free agent in the league today.

Derek Jeter answered this question when asked by Steve Serby of New York Post. He said with a laugh,“He?d probably show up at his house. ? I don?t know, that?s a good question. It would depend on how bad he wanted him. If he wanted him bad, he would do anything it took in order to get him in pinstripes.”

George was certainly not the one to wait and “Captain Clutch”, who has worked closely with the late Yankees owner confirms the same. Ohtani’s free agency is the talk of the town right now as many teams are lining up for him. But it is a known fact that Derek Jeter wishes that the Yankees sign ?Juan Soto.
