The Fourth of July went out with a bang. As people all across the country bade goodbye to a night of fun with firecrackers, the next day brought with it some exciting news. Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg’s long-held rivalry has added another piece to the board. And the latest to take part in it are former Yankee Alex Rodriguez and his ex-fiancee, Jennifer Lopez.

Twitter and its owner have recently come under fire from fans after Musk made some changes to the social media platform. Some Twitter users have long sought a less toxic space to talk about their favorite topics, and Zuckerberg may have a solution with his Threads app.

Jennifer Lopez joins millions on ‘Threads’

Lopez is a popular mainstay on whatever social media platform she chooses to pursue and the same went for Threads. Much like its counterpart, the app allows users to publish posts that can be liked and reposted, as well as commented on. Although a direct message feature is not available yet, Zuckerberg revealed that the app had 10 million sign-ups in seven hours. One of them was, of course, Jennifer Lopez.

The Get on the Floor singer started a conversation with, “Hola Threads! What should we thread about first?!” Talking about the app, it allows its users to log in using their Instagram credentials if they have them, and thousands of J-Lo’s followers joined the chat with her.

The first to add to Lopez’s thread was ‘Impact’, an organization that focuses on impactful journalism. From questions about the singer’s favorite summer songs to snacks, the conversation branched in different directions. Most fans just said hello while some expressed their love for her. And hours after JLo said hello to Threads, her ex-fiance A-Rod also joined the new social media platform.

Several hours later, Alex Rodriguez also joined the fray

The former MLB star regularly keeps up with his various social media platforms. From sharing glimpses into his personal life as well as a behind-the-scenes look into his various business ventures, nothing is off limits. After the usual array of famous social media apps, next on his list was Threads.

“What’s up Threads? 🙋🏾‍♂️” he started with. Most users waved back a hello although A-Rod doesn’t seem to have given them a reply as of now.
