Despite getting a rock-solid start to the 2022 season, the LA Angels have hit rock bottom in the current MLB season. After their recent defeat against the Boston Red Sox, the Angels have lost 12 league games in a row.

This streak started with a loss against the Texas Rangers. And since then, the Angels could not win a single game against the Toronto Blue Jays, New York Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies, and Boston Red Sox.

Imagine having Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout on the team and losing 12 consecutive games. The main reason behind the Angels’ slump has been their too much dependency on marquee players. When Ohtani and Trout were in peak form, the Angels did not have any problem winning the games. But now, they are in deep trouble in the AL West.

Some fans are not happy with Joe Maddon as the Angels’ manager

After recent losses, fingers are being pointed at Joe Maddon, as the Angels manager did not strengthen his roster during the 2022 free agency. Instead, he counted on Shohei Ohtani and Mike Trout to perform throughout the season.

Taking to Twitter, the Angels fans showed their outrage after a 1-0 defeat against the Boston Red Sox. With this defeat, the Angels also tied their franchise losing streak.

One fan said that Ohtani has run out of his magic in pitching and hitting, while another fan even asked why Joe Maddon is still their manager?

An MLB writer tweeted nothing is certain in baseball. Because just a few weeks ago, the Red Sox were going through the same.

Whether it is about pitching or hitting, the Angels’ options have always been limited in the current season. Currently, Joe Maddon does not have many options for starting pitcher. And with Ohtani out of the form, the Angels’ pitching has become clueless.

The same goes with Mike Trout. The three-time AL MVP is going through his worst form in Major League Baseball, while Ohtani has failed to perform from the plate, too. With, Trout and Ohtani out of their form, the Angels’ batting is nowhere near their best.
