

On November 1, 2022, popular American rapper Takeoff, also known as, Kirshnik Khari Ball, lost his life in an altercation that broke out over a dice game in Houston, Texas. The rapper was shot and killed at 810 Billiards & Bowling with over 40 people gathered outside the bowling alley.

The 28-year-old rapper was most popularly known for being part of the Migos, alongside Quavo and Offset. The trio dominated various billboard charts since 2013, and also performed at an NBA All-star event in 2018.

Reigning World Series Champions, the Atlanta Braves reached their Twitter handle and uploaded a picture of Takeoff. Notably, Takeoff was born and brought up in Lawrenceville, a suburb of Atlanta. The tweet said, “RIP to Atlanta’s own Takeoff. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.”

Takeoff, through his style of rapping, created a massive impact in the world of Hip Hop. Consequently, various celebrities reacted to his death, including ESPN’s Mark Jones, singer Russ, and YouTuber and professional boxer Jake Paul.

The band has perpetually delivered bangers since the release of “Versace” in 2013. Takeoff, also the youngest member of the band, lost his life through fatal gun violence.
