New York Yankees legend, Alex Rodriguez, was present in the ballpark to witness it all. And what’s more, he had the privilege of interviewing the main man himself.

As they talked and laughed, Ohtani offered up some incredible insights into his journey and experiences throughout the tournament. It’s true that Japan barreled its way through the WBC, but it just goes to show their love for the game.

Now, Sho-time is often compared to the great Babe Ruth, and it’s not hard to see why. Whether he’s on the mound, striking fear into the guts of his opponents, or wielding the bat, his moon shots are a thing of beauty. In a photograph of A-Rod and Ohtani together, the former slugger captioned the picture with the words, “With the modern-day Babe Ruth. Congrats Shohei Ohtani on a masterful performance.”

Japan’s win over Team USA at the World Baseball Classic 

The ultimate game of WBC between Japan and the USA was a stunning one. Just like Ohtani said, the game’s ending was like something out of a storybook. However, the team’s victory couldn’t have been possible without the tremendous efforts of their behemoth players. Munetaka Murakami and Kazuma Okamoto displayed their excellence on the field, with their soaring home runs that helped the team secure a lead over their rivals.

In the last inning, however, time seemed to be at a standstill. With the score of 2-3, Japan was in the lead, but the USA had the potential to turn the game around, with Mike Trout at bat and Ohtani at the mound.
