Globe Life Field is possibly hosting a rock concert. The Texas Rangers are in the midst of a historic run. Having never won a World Series, the Lone Stars are in their first postseason since 2016. This year, the team is determined to go past the ALDS and win the Fall Classic, unlike 2010 and 2011. Helping them along as a lucky charm is a classic rock band.

Up against the top-seeded Baltimore Orioles, one of the biggest underdogs of the season, the Rangers are leading 2-0. Having dominated at Camden Yards, the last stretch of the five-game series will be played at home. In addition to a little home-field advantage sweetening the odds in their favor, Texas is hoping for Creed to aid them along, too.

Texas Rangers Embrace Creed ‘With Arms Wide Open’

The late 1990s and early 2000s were defined by the post-grunge, hard rock era of Creed. Before the band disbanded in 2004, their influence on music lovers was already set like cement. Some of their music found its way to the Texas Rangers clubhouse in the second half of 2023. The team hopes their influence continues to take them ‘higher’.

Pitcher Andrew Heaney told Jared Sandler that when the team found itself struggling in the second half of the season, Creed was their solution. The clubhouse has been blasting hard rock to amp itself up, marching on through the troubles. The amazing 90-72 regular season record may have been lower, especially when Jacob deGrom, Jon Gray, and Max Scherzer‘s injuries came into play.

But Creed became the secret sauce to the Rangers’ recipe for success. Heaney also wants the Texas ballpark to play the band’s music during Game 3 vs. the Baltimore Orioles. Fans have already been singing along to the Grammy award-winning artist from the stands. What’s once more to cheer their team up? Incidentally, this wasn’t the only instance of Creed hyping up a sports team.

After 2015 NFC Failure, Ex-NFL Tight-End Wishes Texas Better Luck

The Carolina Panthers, in the hopes of winning against the Denver Broncos, blasted hard rock from the clubhouse speakers in 2015. Had they won, Creed’s lead singer Scott Stapp would have attended the after-party with the Cats. But Super Bowl 50, a special event in any case, went in Denver’s favor.

Reposting MLB Life’s original post on X, formerly Twitter, ex-Panthers’ tight-end Greg Olsen revealed it was one of his biggest regrets, not winning. At the same time, he also wished Texas better luck than Carolina had.
