“When I had time to think about what I want, basically, my ultimate goal really is to play with Vladdy (Guerrero Jr.) forever, to win a championship with him and to do that with this organization,” Looks like it’s all coming true for Bo Bichette. The Toronto Blue Jays are headed to the World Series and they look set to welcome back one of their key hitters to the lineup. After the Jays pulled off a thrilling come-from-behind win over the Mariners in Game 7 of the ALCS, reporters were quick to ask the star shortstop about his availability for the World Series.

Bo Bichette’s last postseason appearance came in 2023, when he went 4-for-8 with four singles against the Minnesota Twins in the AL Wild Card Series.
Earlier this week, manager John Schneider hinted reporters that Bo Bichette is making progress in his recovery from the left knee injury that ended his regular season.

It happened last month when Bo Bichette collided with Yankees catcher Austin Wells. It resulted in a sprained posterior cruciate ligament.
Bo Bichette has been sidelined since he suffered a knee sprain against the New York Yankees on September 6. Despite a slow start to the season, the two time All-Star, right-handed hitter was a major contributor for the Jays this season. He posted a .311/.357/.483 slash line with 18 home runs and 94 RBIs this season.
Bichette did try to step things up after the AL Division Series, but some discomfort lingered. Ultimately, the team was left with no option but to leave him off the ALCS roster.
But bringing him back now for the World Series roster, would that really be a good move?

MLB analyst and former player responds to Bo Bichette’s news
MLB analyst and former player A.J. Pierzynski recently weighed in on the Bichette news on Foul Territory.
According to him, putting a rusty Bichette back into the lineup isn’t a safe choice. It could potentially throw off the Blue Jays’ rhythm and could do more harm than good as they prepare to take on the defending champion Los Angeles Dodgers.
“You gonna DH him for (George) Springer?” Pierzynski asked in a rhetorical sense. Moreover, he also pointed out that starting Bo Bichette at shortstop when he’s still dealing with that knee issue, especially over Andrés Giménez, who’s been outstanding there, is probably not a safe move.
“As much as I think Bo’s an awesome player … right now, I just think you say, ‘Look, man, I’m sorry. We’re rolling with what we got.’” Pierzynski added.
However, his fellow host Erik Kratz has a different take. For the record, Bichette had hit .311 with an .840 OPS during the regular season. As Kratz sees it, “If (Bichette) is healthy, I have to find a way to get him in the lineup.”
Well, it’s true that he had been making steady progress throughout October.
No matter where Bo Bichette ends up playing. Having his bat back in the lineup is a huge boost for John Schiender and Co. The Blue Jays will need him to contribute in any way he can against the Los Angeles Dodgers.
If the Blue Jays hadn’t made it this far, there’s a chance Bichette would have already played his last game for the team. After all, the free agency market is awaiting him this offseason.
