The Yankees vs Boston Red Sox games contain a high amount of emotional intensity. In the top of the sixth inning, Cole thought he got a strike against Alex Verdugo. But umpire, Brian Knight, rather called a ‘ball’ and Verdugo slammed a three-run homer on the next pitch. Though, Cole struck out J.D. Martinez afterward, he was still furious at Knight.

Therefore, Cole unleashed his anger on Knight and got immediately ejected as a result. The Yankees’ manager, Aaron Boone, stepped in to defend Cole, but he got ejected too. Cole gave away his 31st home run surrender this season. Regardless, Cole will be thankful that the Yankees finally defeated the Red Sox by a 5-4 margin.

Analyst Ben Verlander, posted on Twitter quoting, “Gerrit Cole is fired up! Gerrit Cole is ejected after a few very borderline pitches were called balls which were followed by a game tying home run. Gets out of the inning then lets the umpire have it!”
