“What a Clown Show!”- New York Yankees Baffle Fans by Turning to One of Their Greatest Defeats for Inspiration Before Do-or-Die Postseason Clash

The New York Yankees had everything going almost perfectly for them throughout the regular season. They reigned dominantly in the first half and fought back amidst a slide in their form in the second half. They won a postseason series in a thrilling manner to reach the American League Championship. But things then went horribly wrong for the Yankees to the point of seeking motivation from an earlier forgettable series.
The Yankees recently contested in this year’s league championship series against the Houston Astros. Prior to that, the Yankees defeated the Cleveland Guardians in the playoffs. Moreover, the Yankees also qualified with their respective league’s zonal title crown. But their proceedings took an awkward turn only after facing off against the Astros.

The Astros defeated the Yankees in the first three games. So, with elimination looming over, the Yankees turned toward some flashback action. They began watching highlight videos of a previous ALCS campaign. Shockingly, it happened to be a series, where the Yankees blew a commanding lead over the arch-rivals, Boston Red Sox.
New York Yankees took inspiration from the wrong source
The Yankees being down on their morale required some much-needed boost. So, according to Yankees’ manager, Aaron Boone, the team’s mental skills coach, Chad Bohling, sent some highlight videos. However, those were recordings of the 2004 ALCS, where the Red Sox fought back miraculously against the Yankees. Though the Yankees led the seven-game series by a 3-0 margin, the Red Sox later famously clinched the series 4-3.
B/R Walk-Off network posted the news on Twitter quoting, “Yankees using a Yankees collapse to inspire themselves. What a time.”

If this “actually” works. Boone will be a genius! But then again….

Bohling should be fired

😂😂😂 Absolute delusional. The ‘22 Yankees are not the ‘04 Red Sox and never gonna be. And the ‘22 Astros are more superior than the ‘04 Yankees. It’s a 4-0 sweep tonight.

It just keeps getting worse

Therefore, almost no fan considered that to be the proper decision by the Yankees’ management.

But most importantly, the plan didn’t help the Yankees by any means.
The result of the concluded American League Championship Series
Watching the highlight videos dating back to 2004, proved ineffective for the Yankees, as the Astros maintained perfection. The Astros completely dominated the Yankees to sweep the series. Consequently, the Astros have made their second consecutive qualification for the World Series. Whereas, the Yankees will have to figure out a better way to reach the World Series next time.
