AL v/s NL: who has the most All-Star wins?
If the American League wins this year, they will bag their 10th straight victory in the last 10 years. Both leagues have impressive records of consecutive wins, but the National League will have to rack up a few more Ws if they’re to catch up to their MLB counterpart.
The AL currently leads the All-Star victories at 47 while the NL has 43. Two games have also ended with a tie before, one in 1961 and the other in 2001. Interestingly, 2001’s game was also played in Seattle.
Which league is likely to win? Will NL finally break their losing streak?
According to CBS, the AL is the -115 favorite at Caesars Sportsbook while is the -105 underdog in the latest odds. Both teams have strong players, no doubt, but both have their pros and cons. Texas Rangers populate the roster with Shohei Ohtani, also starting as DH. With the powerful bat of Randy Arozarena, the AL will get a strong boost.
But at the same time, the NL is full of Atlanta Braves, who are at the top of their division with an impressive 60-29 record. Ronald Acuna Jr., Freddie Freeman, Corbin Carroll, and Mookie Betts are just some of the powerful starters.
Major changes on the roster ahead of the Mid-Summer Classic
The AL is missing two of its powerhouses, Aaron Judge and Mike Trout, after both had to pull out due to injuries. So did Clayton Kershaw, Marcus Stroman, Shane McClanahan, Dansby Swanson, and Framber Valdez among many others.
But these circumstances also mean other deserving players get a chance in the limelight. It certainly gives ballplayers that many wanted to see on the team in the first place but were brutally snubbed.
Making his All-Star debut is Tampa Bay Rays’ superstar Wander Franco. The shortstop has been having a wonderful season so far, with a 4.3 bWAR and a career-high 11 home runs. Also joining him as replacements are the much-deserving Kyle Tucker, Julio Rodriguez, Kodai Senga, and George Kirby, among others.
Starters/Pitchers
Aside from the above-mentioned names, the AL’s starters are – Jonah Heim, Yandy Diaz, Marcus Semien, Josh Jung, Corey Seager, Adolis Garcia, and Austin Hays.
The AL pitching staff includes Michael Lorenzen, Luis Castillo, Gerrit Cole, Nathan Eovaldi, George Kirby, Pablo Lopez, and Sonny Gray.
On the other hand, NL’s starters as not mentioned above are Sean Murphy, Luis Arraez, Nolan Arenado, Orlando Garcia, and J.D Martinez.
The pitchers include Zac Gallen, Justin Steele, Josiah Gray, Mitch Keller, Kodai Senga, Alex Cobb, and Corbin Burnes.
Predictions!
This year’s All-Star is especially exciting with old blood and new mixing in. While the AL is clearly favored to win, could the NL make a surprising comeback to break the AL’s ongoing streak? The AL boasts talent and depth, while the NL boasts some terrific hitters.

Which ballpark will hold the next All-Star game?
