Tensions are running high in the National League. After fantastic seasons, the Philadelphia Phillies and the Atlanta Braves are locking horns in the Divisional Series. As some predicted, Philly came in with a massive win in Game 1, toppling Atlanta. But Game 2 was a comeback victory for the Braves, and a huge Bryce Harper blunder largely aided it. However, the slugger is redeeming himself with a tremendous move.

Harper can be described as aggressive when it comes to baseball, putting in 120% at every game. After all, his five-and-a-half month recovery period from Tommy John surgery speaks for itself. Most take at least nine to ten months. But after costing his team a victory in the second NLDS game, Harper sought to redeem himself in the next round.

Bryce Harper Blasts Moonshot To Give An Early Start to Phillies
As the slugger has proved time and again, he supports the City of Brotherly Love wholeheartedly. When the Braves’ Michael Harris made a leaping catch in Game 2, throwing to Austin Riley at the exact spot and time he needed to, it was game over for Harper. Phillies’ manager Rob Thomson was as angry as anyone at the ninth-inning blunder because it proved costly.

The very next day, however, Harper has earned back the love with a three-run home run. In the third inning of Game 3, the DH faced Atlanta starter Bryce Elder and gave the Phillies an early lead. Nick Castellanos’ blast at the top of the inning already had adrenaline running high. As it stands, Philadelphia will most likely win this match-up.

The club is looking to defend its World Series runner-up title from 2022 and this year, they may win it all. The Braves, like last year, may very well repeat history and fall in the NLDS. Only time will tell, but meanwhile, Citizens Bank Park is enjoying one Bryce Harper moonshot after another.
