The San Francisco Giants are trying to match steps with their competitors and are making noteworthy moves in this off-season. So, they have recently signed a marquee player into their roster, who was a free agent. And the star recently came to notice, having some celebratory moments with his family. Therefore, his level of popularity has made the scenes go trending online.

The Giants were making big headlines in the winter meetings while trying to acquire the iconic Aaron Judge. They even suggested a lucrative contract to get Judge on board. However, the plans failed as Judge ultimately decided to re-sign with the New York Yankees. Therefore, in an alternate attempt to match the fancied star value, the Giants signed superstar shortstop Carlos Correa.

Moments of overwhelming joy for the new star in the San Francisco Giants ranks

Carlos Correa grabbed the headlines yet again recently, after signing a record-setting deal with the Giants, a $350 million megadeal with the franchise for a 13-year period. He has now got the fourth-largest guaranteed money deal in MLB history after Mike Trout, Aaron Judge, and Mookie Betts. Correa’s contract with the Giants also includes no opt-outs and a full no-trade clause.

Correa already made big news this year after suddenly dropping out of his Minnesota Twins’ three-year term contract. The New York Mets, who are on a heavy signing spree, were thus showing a keen interest in the free agent. But Correa stepped out of his free-agent phase, after eventually receiving a satisfying contract offer from the Giants. Interestingly, Correa rejected the Giants’ $160 million offer last year, instead chose the Twins’ $35.1 million offer in 2022.

Meanwhile, speaking to the New York Post about his contract, Correa confidently said, “I go to the mall and I go to the Dior store and I want something, I get it. I ask how much it costs and I buy it. So if you really want something, you just go get it. I’m the product here, and if they want my product, they’ve just got to come get it.”

Carlos Correa’s MLB career under the scanner

Correa made his MLB debut with the Houston Astros in 2015. Moving ahead, he played for the Twins in 2022. The two-time All-Star player made significant contributions to the Astros’ World Series victory in 2017. A powerful slugger and acrobatic fielder, Correa won the Gold Glove, Platinum Glove, and Fielding Bible Award altogether in 2021.
