As per a source, Correa told the newspaper, “With the year that I have had, my health and my being at the best moment of my career at 28, that is the right decision.” 

The Fox Sports network posted the news on their official Twitter account, quoting, “Carlos Correa is reportedly opting out of his contract with the Twins & will become a free agent, per El Nuevo Dia.”
