The Yankees were majestic in the regular season this year and appeared to be a World Series favorite. Therefore, they are now trying to bolster their offense and defense to equal measures. So in a desperate move, the Yankees are attempting to sign free agent starting pitcher Carlos Rodon.

New York Yankees’ target aiming for a bigger deal

Carlos Rodon is reportedly seeking a seven-year deal with the Yankees. Though a source states the Yankees will rather try to reduce Rodon to a four to five-year deal, Rodon himself was earlier looking for a six-year deal. But due to the price rate of starting pitchers going higher in the trade market now, Rodon elevated his demand.

The Yankees are among the several teams trying to acquire Rodon. On that note, if any team has got the financial prowess to fulfill his demands, it’s the Yankees. Making headlines, the Pinstripes have recently re-signed the enigmatic Aaron Judge with a $360 million deal for a nine-year period. And after almost settling their offense, the Yankees are looking to better their defense.

The Yankees have already missed out on signing the likes of Justin Verlander and Jacob deGrom. Hence, Rodon might be the best chance for the Yankees to go ahead. Despite his injury-prone history, proper rotational management can yield effective results from Rodon. The SNY TV Network recently posted the news on their official Twitter account quoting, “Carlos Rodon is reportedly seeking at least a seven-year deal.”
