Getting a seat at a high-stakes MLB game is no small feat — now imagine scoring multiple prime spots just so your kids can watch their dad shine on the mound. Sounds like the ultimate family moment, right? Well… not quite if you’re Carlos Rodón. The New York Yankees pitcher had his family all set for a special outing during Tuesday’s game. Seats secured, game face on, and a chance to impress his biggest (and smallest) fans. But guess what? The Rodón kids had other plans.
Rodon’s wife, Ashley, is a familiar face for the Bronx Nation, who is often seen sitting in the stands during the Yankees’ games. She not only expresses her fandom for her husband but also for his teammates, often sharing interesting takes from the game on her X account. The situation on Tuesday was not different when the Yankees baffled the Guardians 3-2. But what caught the attention was her intriguing and lighthearted insight into her kids’ priorities.
Ashley took to her X account and hilariously shared how difficult it was to get her kids to pay attention to the game. “Got both my kids seats tonight… Bo decided he would rather play with his friends, and Willow lasted 9 outs 😂,” she wrote. Well, this incident is also interesting because of Rodon’s impeccable outing last night, which played a crucial role in the Yankees’ win.

The star player delivered seven strong innings to earn his eighth win of the season. He threw 93 pitches and faced 26 batters throughout the game, giving up just five hits and one earned run while striking out eight and walking only one. But all these hardly mattered to the kids. Remember, Carlos and Ashley tied the knot in 2018 and welcomed their daughter Willow in 2019. Their second child, Bo, was born in 2021 before the couple became parents for the third time in 2023.
While Ashley is proactive on her social media and often shows immense love for her husband, Carlos, too, has often stepped up to show gratitude for Ashley reciprocating mutual love. And one such moment came when Ashley faced some unfortunate trolling

When Carlos Rodon revealed his wife’s strong side
Athletes and their families are often the victims of vile trolling and unfortunate threats, especially from disgruntled fans and bettors. One such moment came in October last year when the Yankees lost against the Kansas City Royals. The fans went berserk and even booed Rodon off the field. Notably, the criticism also reached his home when his wife was trolled and threatened online, but she decided to stand firm and be the support Rodon would have expected.
Speaking about the threats, Rodon engaged in an interaction with the press and shared, “Actually, I didn’t look at it. Ashley and I spoke about it that night, and she said, and I quote, ‘I have thick skin, so I’m gonna be okay,’ and she does, she’s a tough lady, my wife, probably tougher than I am.” But all such incidents are in the past now.

In fact, that’s the reason why Rodon prefers taking a backseat when it comes to social media. Rodon explained that, although he has social media accounts, he chooses not to keep the apps on his phone. He believes this approach helps him avoid distractions and negativity, which is especially important for athletes. For now, it would be interesting to see how the Yankees progress in the current series and the season in general. Will more such hilarious family moments unfold in the Rodon household? Well, that remains to be seen.
