Derek Jeter established a legacy over his 20-year MLB career with the New York Yankees. He is known for his tenacity, his drive to win, and his undying loyalty. This characteristic of Jeter also extended to his relationships off the field. The Yankee legend stayed with the same agent his whole MLB career. Most recently, his agent received a massive honor, and Sharlee Jeter, Derek’s sister, shared a special message for him.

Derek Jeter’s agent Casey Close was inducted into the College Baseball Hall Of Fame

Casey Close represented Derek Jeter from 1993 until the Yankee legend retired from baseball. Jeter trusted Close and developed a strong bond with him. Most recently, Close was inducted into the National College Baseball Hall of Fame. Derek’s sister Sharlee congratulated him via an Instagram Story. 

In the Story, she said, “Congrats Casey!”, and shared the Twitter post confirming the news. Excel Baseball shared the news in a Tweet saying, “Congratulations to Casey Close on being enshrined into the National College Baseball Hall of Fame! 👏 #exceling”. This is a huge honor for Close, who was an MLB player before becoming a super agent.

But Jeter didn’t retain Close as his agent just because of loyalty. He also did so because of his skill. Close once beat Jay Z in contract deals despite the musician having a bigger name. Furthermore, he has represented some top baseball players other than Jeter.

Although most people will remember Casey Close for representing Derek Jeter, he has worked with other massive superstars. Some of Close’s top clients over the years include Clayton Kershaw, Masahiro Tanaka, Zack Greinke, and Paul Goldschmidt, among others.
