

Baseball is more than just playing the game. More and more MLB players are finding new roles after retiring from playing the game. This includes jobs in the media, as a coach, or even in an administrative role. Derek Jeter’s former teammate CC Sabathia chose the latter and joined the MLB in a special assistant role in 2022. Most recently, he shared a sneak peek at a special encounter with New York Yankees’ rookie Anthony Volpe.
Sabathia was a leadership figure during his career and excelled with the Yankees. He recently showcased one aspect of his MLB role while interacting with Volpe and a few other MLB players.

New York Yankees legend CC Sabathia interacted with Anthony Volpe and two other MLB players
MLB players are branching out into new avenues after retiring from baseball. Yankees legend CC Sabathia did just that by joining MLB. He works as a special assistant to MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred. Most recently, he interacted with Anthony Volpe, Triston McKenzie, and Shane Bieber while at work. Sabathia shared pictures from his day’s work in an Instagram post. He can be seen talking to the MLB stars separately.

In the Instagram post, Sabathia said, “‘Work’ was good today!!” The legendary Yankees’ pitcher made some great memories with these MLB players. He is focused on bringing a change to the MLB while using his 19 years of playing experience.

Sabathia works as a liaison between the League and the players while also addressing equity, diversity, and youth participation, among other things. His office is in New York and he works with other former legends of the game. But despite his important role, Sabathia finds the time to have fun once in a while and was recently spotted at a massive NBA game.
CC Sabathia went to watch the New York Knicks play live
The NBA playoffs are going on and have seen some intense games. Celebrities and stars are all pouring into the stadiums to watch their favorite team play live. CC Sabathia was one of several sporting legends present at Game 2 of the New York Knicks’ second-round series against the Miami Heat. The New York Yankees’ legendary pitcher enjoyed the action as the Knicks won the game. Earlier during the regular season, he even met a former teammate at a game.
