Today is the day that almost every Star Wars fan longs for all year. It is the iconic tribute to one of the biggest movie franchises ever made, Star Wars Day. And participating in celebrating this occasion is the former World Series champ, CC Sabathia. The now-retired 6x All-Star Sabathia, who also played the game with the Hall of Famer Derek Jeter, has always been an ardent fan of the media franchise. 

One of the first memories of Sabathia being a fan is of going to see the first movie in the theatre with his dad holding his hand as a kid. Hence, this long-time fan of the franchise had to pay his dues by paying tribute in his own iconic way. 

How did the athlete pay tribute to Star Wars Day?

Sabathia put on a small video compilation of some of the scenes from Star Wars, which ultimately gave him the power to be strong on the mound as he took on countless hitters one by one. 

While posting the small video on his Instagram handle, the former baseball player wrote with it, “This was my mindset every time on the mound 😂 May The 4th Be With You!!”

The ex-athlete’s love for baseball and the franchise has only increased with every day the sun has risen, and the process will remain the same for an undecided set of time.

Every love is different, and so is the way of showing love. Sabathia chose this way of paying tribute to this iconic franchise, which he has loved since he was a kid.
