With the MLB trade deadline less than 24 hours away, things have already taken a turn with the players getting traded. One such player is Boston Red Sox’s catcher Christian Vazquez, who didn’t need to fly down to be with his new team.

Vazquez got selected in the ninth round of the MLB draft by the Boston Red Sox in 2008. He made his debut in 2014 and has played for Red Sox until now.?

Christian Vazquez reacted in the most diplomatic way

Learning about getting traded is already painful, but learning while getting ready to play for the team is excruciating. Coincidentally, Boston was already in Houston for a three-game series beginning Monday night.?

Vazquez was on the field doing batting practice when he learned about the trade. With Boston’s dip in play in July, it was certain that the team would be making changes. But to know that Vazquez would be the first to go has come as a surprise to many.

While walking off the field, Vazquez was approached by a group of reporters to confirm if he got traded. He?responded,?” I think so, yeah.”?When asked how he felt about it, he diplomatically answered,?“It’s a business.”

Prior to the batting practice, he attended a hitters meeting, and then he got traded. So, learning about the trade obviously must have hurt. If this wasn’t enough, he was pulled away by his former team midway through the interview.

Looking at Vazquez’s career with the Red Sox

Christian Vazquez is now a catcher for the Houston Astros. Before this, he played for the Boston Red Sox and was a part of the 2018 world series championship.

With a batting average of .262 and 54 home runs, he has played many games, got injured, put on the disabled list, and made a comeback, all in his almost eight years of career with the Red Sox.
