Cody Bellinger was one of MLB’s top stars in between 2017-2019. He earned two All-Star nods, a Silver Slugger, 1 Gold Glove and the NL MVP in 2019. But the 3 years following that were filled with struggle and it seemed like Bellinger was on his way out of the League. But a ‘prove it’ deal this past season with the Chicago Cubs revived his career completely. Just in time for his next free agency.

Now that the 2019 MVP has found his form once again, the 2023 free agency is a crucial and intriguing juncture. Bellinger has also provided teams with lots to think about as they decide whether to give him a massive long-term deal that could go up to $300 million. With Scott Boras by his side, the price tag will not be cheap.

Another interesting factor in this free agency with Bellinger is his age. The former MVP is only 28 years old and has at least 5-7 years at the top of his powers, if not more. But teams are still hesitating as they decide his value.
