Even though the LA Angels were filled with regrets, the Toronto Blue Jays experienced the greatest heartbreak when Shohei Ohtani signed a $700 million deal with the Dodgers. Their fans were in dreamland after every report called them the favorites, only to have the rug pulled from under them. Still, the offseason isn’t over and they must regroup and what better way to do it than to go for Cody Bellinger – the biggest position player still in free agency. There were rumors that the Blue Jays were pivoting to the left-handed hitter after their Ohtani disappointment. On the same lines, a recent story from Bellinger’s fiancee has turned the internet abuzz.

Bellinger can take comfort in the fact that there is still a strong interest in his skills. According to a recent report by MLB.com’s Jon Paul Morosi, the Blue Jays, the San Francisco Giants, and the Seattle Mariners have expressed interest in the 2023 NL Comeback Player of the Year. Yet, Bellinger’s fiancee’s recent Instagram story has unveiled a preference among the three interested teams.

Cody Bellinger – Blue Jays rumors get a boost after fiancee’s post

Due to the giant shadow of Shohei Ohtani and Juan Soto’s trade situation, Bellinger has remained in the backseat. Now that both of these deals are done, he has turned into a big attraction. The Blue Jays need a left-hander but missed out on Soto talks due to their Ohtani pursuit. So, the reports emerged that they are after Bellinger. Now, his fiancee has shared a story of the CN Tower signaling that she’s in Toronto.

As soon as the Talkin’ Yanks aired this piece of information, it has sent the internet ablaze with fans excited about a possible deal. Does this mean something? This certainly signals that the predictions of Bellinger becoming valuable after the Ohtani/Soto deals were true. The Blue Birds’ interest in Bellinger stems from the fact that the team is solid defensively but leaves a lot to desire in offense.

The Blue Birds have always been a team that hits many runs. But last season they fell off, scoring only 746 runs and ranking 14th in total runs scored. With Bellinger on board, they will have a player who excels offensively and is good enough in defense to maintain their defensive solidarity. To sum up, this will also help them overcome the massive disappointment they’ve faced in their Ohtani pursuit.
