Roy Halladay was the toughest to play for Derek Jeter
Although there have not been many pitchers who could trouble Derek Jeter at the plate, the Yankees legend had trouble facing Roy Halladay. During a Q&A session on Instagram, Jeter revealed the name of Roy Halladay as the toughest pitcher he ever faced.
However, Jeter still does not consider him the best pitcher. In the same video, the Captain revealed the name of the best pitcher he faced. Per Derek Jeter, the Red Sox legend, Pedro Martinez was the best pitcher he faced in his career.
“Toughest pitcher on me was Roy Halladay, couldn’t figure him out,” Derek Jeter revealed. “The best pitcher I ever faced was Pedro Martinez.”

Taking to Twitter, Talkin Baseball shared an interesting stat. Jeter has the lowest average and OPS against Halladay.

Debuted in the 1995 season for the New York Yankees, Derek Jeter bid farewell to the game in the 2014 season. Later, in 2020, the Yankees legend got inducted into the MLB Hall of Fame.
