A bitter feud broke the ultimate baseball bromance years ago. The 2001 controversy between Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez showed how detrimental feuds can take place in the sports world. In an instant, the best friends became bitter rivals. These two players have played in the same team for years. During this journey, they shared celebrations and disappointments, but the friendship was never restored like before. However, years after that, the recent activities show that the duo is probably trying to resolve the issues and rekindle their lost friendship. They have even progressed a few steps towards that, as the recent social media post of A-Rod reveals.

With time, the MLB icons have pacified the grudges and issues they once gave priority over their friendship. After retirement, Rodriguez and Jeter appeared for interviews in recent years. A latest social media post even shows that these two former teammates joined a former rival to celebrate some special moments.

The trio, until now, only appeared together on-camera on the Fox Sports show or in interviews. However, the former Yankees’ star shared an Instagram Story recently wherein A-Rod was a part of the birthday party of his Fox Sports colleague Tom Rinaldi. The 2009 World Series Champion wished his “good buddy” a happy birthday. This probably doesn’t attract attention without the presence of two other MLB legends on the occasion.

Ortiz and A-Rod’s friendship is legendary as both of the ex-baseballers hailed from the arch-rival teams. The group photo from the celebration proves that A-Rod and Captain Clutch are trying to forget their years-long feud. The friendship of these two ex-Yankees players started while they were rivals in-field, but the equation changed a few years before Rodriguez joined the Yankees.

In 2001, A-Rod stirred up trouble by mentioning Jeter’s weaknesses that he thought would hinder him from breaking his record. The former Yankees captain didn’t take it lightly, which ultimately caused a crack in their friendship. They have played together and supported each other during difficulties, but their friendship never returned to what it used to be.

However, years after that, once talking about his biggest regret, the former baseman mentioned this event.

These two baseball legends once opened up during an Esquire interview. After some questions, the discussion came to the biggest regret these legends have in their lives.

In reply, A-Rod mentioned his failure to maintain the teenage friendship with Jeter as the biggest one. A-Rod expressed, “One of my biggest regrets, and a lot of it is because of my craziness, and all the mistakes I’ve made on and off the field, my regret is I wish we were as close as we were when we were teenagers in Seattle when we played.” He even praised Jeter for his leadership and guidance. Moreover, Jeter also acknowledged this, saying, “You move on. You learn. Things happen in life.”
