The players’ weekend has everything from custom cleats to some really cool bats. So naturally, Ohtani too took advantage of this special opportunity.

Shohei Ohtani will be wearing New Balance’s custom cleats during the Dodgers’ series against the Detroit Tigers. While Shotime’s shoes are always quite special, this time he has Decoy printed on them. The beautiful blue and golden cleats have the words “Decoy” and “Dekopic” written on them with the doggo’s cute face on its ankle. That’s yet another homage by Ohtani to his virally famous pet.

Ohtani first introduced Decoy to the world in November. The two-way phenom was being interviewed after his 2nd MVP win when Dekopin appeared on TV. And from then on, Decoy became a viral sensation. From posters to art, Decoy has been a part of Ohtani’s lore. The fans’ love is so passionate that the Dodgers are honoring the two with a rare bobblehead.

Shohei Ohtani and Decoy’s bobblehead day nears

It is common knowledge how Shohei Ohtani’s very first Dodgers bobblehead day shook the earth. The Blue Crew’s fans flocked to the Dodger Stadium to get their hands on two of Ohtani’s bobbleheads. By the end of the night, some of his bobbleheads were being sold for over $5000. So, what will happen when the Los Angeles Dodgers give away Ohtani and Decoy’s bobbleheads? That could certainly generate a pandemonium, right?

That question will be answered on August 28. The Dodgers have scheduled a Shohei & Decoy bobblehead giveaway for that day. Not only will this be the second bobblehead of Ohtani in Dodgers uniform, but it will also immortalize his love for Decoy. When was the last time we saw a baseball player and his pet becoming such an iconic pair? Chances are most might not remember anyone with this much popularity.
