Over two decades ago, the sports world saw the biggest feud between two players in MLB history. Two of the greatest players that MLB would probably never see again, Derek Jeter and Alex Rodriguez, went from being best friends to the biggest enemies of each other. The chapter that unfolded when the twenty-first century started is yet to be closed. It is often said that people may come and go into the world, but the words said stay the same. What A-Rod said all those years ago, which ruined his friendship with the Hall of Famer, still somewhere lingers between the two former athletes.

Although Jeter has previously said that whatever happened between him and Rodriguez is now over, from a recent incident, it can be said that they are not close as they once used to be while being friends.

Where did Derek Jeter keep his distance from Alex Rodriguez?

Last night, the frenemies attended the Reggie Jackson Golf Tournament. There, Hall of Famers other than Jeter and celebrities like 50 Cent made the event a massive success.

But as everyone at the tournament posed for a group picture, the former Captain of the Bronx Bombers maintained a good enough distance from his once best friend, Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez.

However, one might say that if whatever happened between Jeter and A-Rod is now over, then there was no apparent reason for him to stand far away from the owner of A-Rod Corp. However, it is possible that things might not be better between the Captain and Rodriguez. And the reason Jeter said that everything is over was that he didn’t want to get asked about it anymore.

How did Jeter and Rodriguez use to be before becoming enemies?

The Captain had met Rodriguez during a college baseball game when A-Rod was still in high school. It was that moment when the two met and became friends. After that, their bond started to get stronger. And the people around them used to tease them about being a couple.

But then, when Rodriguez signed the biggest contract in MLB history in 2000, everything changed. He said that anyone could compete with him on the contract but not Jeter. It was the start that eventually made them enemies that they couldn’t be trusted alone in a room together.

And now, it’s 2023, but it does not look like everything between the two great players is fine. What do you think about Jeter’s friendship with Rodriguez? Let us know in the comments below!
