Derek Jeter has added another role to his resume

Derek Jeter is serious about his new venture. In an exclusive interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he emphasized, “It’s not just some random company that was started because we said, ‘hey, we want to get into production now.’ This is an extension of what has been built over the last 10 years.”  Cap 2, which is being repped by WME, is already making moves behind the scenes! The company has quietly developed a slate of projects, with many of them centered around baseball. Jeter is tapping into his extensive network to collaborate with various TV and streaming partners.

Cap 2 is stepping into a bustling arena filled with entertainment companies led by superstar athletes, both active and retired. Jeter joins the ranks of icons like Lionel Messi, Tom Brady, LeBron James, and Serena Williams. All of whom have ventured into the production world. Jeter sees Cap 2 as a natural progression from his work with The Players’ Tribune. The athlete-focused digital publication he co-founded with Jaymee Messler in 2014. He’s taking the same passion for authentic storytelling that made The Players’ Tribune a success and channeling it into this new venture.
