MLB icon Derek Jeter needs no introduction. His skills in baseball are undeniable and he’s lovingly referred to as The Captain. And with a big name comes a big paycheck, which Jeter has famously used in various ways. And while it’s common to see celebrities starting their own charities, Jeter went one step ahead with his Turn 2 Foundation.
His twenty-season-long career with the Bronx Bombers is a testament to his talent, but apparently, Jeter can do more than that. At his annual Celebrity Invitational Golf Tournament, the former shortstop invites various celebrities from the sports and entertainment world. However, the irony is that despite hosting the tournament for years, the retired Yankee is yet to win a single Golf tournament. And recently, he clarified why he has not been able to do so.

Then the conversation turned to the Turn 2 Foundation, which Jeter established in 1996 with his dad. The organization focuses on motivating young kids to move away from a lifestyle of alcohol and drugs. And instead ‘turn 2’ a healthier lifestyle.

When Fallon asked Jeter about why he hadn’t won a game at his own tournament, the former captain said the reason was twofold.
“One, if you win your own tournament, people think it’s rigged. So you want people to come back and continue to spend money, and hope they have a chance to win. And so you can’t just go out and win your own tournament. And two, I’m not very good at golf,” Jeter told Jimmy.

After all, he had to lead a team for years and old habits die hard, anyway. But Tiger Woods, a golf legend, praised Jeter for his golf talent.
