Derek Jeter’s Sister Sharlee Jeter Predicted His Kids Would “Rock His Whole World” Long Before They Were Even Born

By the time the New York Yankees’ great Derek Jeter hung his cleats and retired from the Captain’s position in 2014, he had achieved a lot, both professionally and personally. Professionally, he had given a Hall of Fame-worthy career, won five World Series rings, became an all-star player fourteen times, and accepted many other awards. And personally, he was yet to be settled, as he was still in his dating phase back then.
However, in 2014, he’d already met the woman he was going to marry. And he had also become an uncle to a then three-year-old boy, Jalen. He is her younger sister’s son. Watching her older brother caring for her son often made Sharlee (Jeter’s younger sister) wonder how would he handle it when he would become a father.
How did Sharlee Jeter envision her brother as a father?

Sharlee knew how much her brother adored his nephew. But she would always laugh out loud when thinking of Jeter as a father. Just like everybody has different perceptions of themselves as a parent, what Sharlee thought of him as a father, she always laughed.

Apparently, she thought that as a parent, he would be exactly the same as he used to live his life. His life as a baseball player relied majorly on schedules. And so, on Sharlee’s part, it was safe to assume that this is how he would raise his kids. Therefore, in an interview with Chris Smith, she spoke, “Derek thinks that with a kid, today you’re going to be potty trained, this is what you’re going to eat and what times you’re going to eat. That’s just how he lives his life. It’s going to rock his whole world.”
However, it took around three more years for the former athlete to become a father. From the looks of it, it does not look like Jeter as a father, keeps his girls on strict schedules. Although it is also possible that the opposite would be true.

How does Derek Jeter act as a father?
To all three daughters of his, he is a doting father who would do anything to make them happy. He is the kind of father who gets manicures from his daughters. The Yankees legend also wears ‘hello kitty’ necklaces and remembers the kids’ song by heart that gets played multiple times in his house.

In a similar fashion to wanting to keep his personal life private in his playing days, he keeps his life with all four of his girls (daughters and wife) as much secluded from the media as possible.
