The Toronto Blue Jays are just one victory away from history. Dropping back-to-back after winning the first game 11-4, they came back strong in the enemy territory, winning two straight games (4 & 5), and now a single win can break their 32-year drought. But no team has ever won the World Series on a Halloween night. Can the Blue Jays break that pattern?

The whole FOX crew, featuring Derek Jeter, Alex Rodriguez, and David Ortiz, all unanimously predicted ‘No’ and that the Dodgers would win Game 6, forcing the series to go a Game 7.
The Hall of Fame shortstop Derek Jeter seemed uncertain at first and laughed nervously before saying, “I have no idea who’s going to win. Great start… yes, a good way to start it. Look, and I’m not too confident with it, but I think this series deserves seven games.” And then he finally gave his prediction.

“So I’m going Dodgers 3-2.”
There are so many unseen things we have experienced in this World Series (or at least, unseen in the last couple of years).

Start with Addison Barger’s pinch-hit grand slam in Game 1 in a Blue Jays 11-4 win. It was the first pinch-hit grand slam in the history of the World Series.

In Game 2, Yoshinobu Yamamoto pitched a complete game. It was his consecutive complete game in this postseason. The last pitcher with the same feat was Curt Schilling in 2001, who went three straight that time.
Then, Game 3 became an 18-inning marathon that extended for around 6 hours and 39 minutes and tied with only another Dodgers game against the Red Sox in 2018 for the longest innings in the history of the World Series. LA won that, too, by 3-2.

While Game 4 was a clean comeback from Toronto, in Game 5, we saw a rookie, Trey Yesavage, fanning 12 batters to push Toronto to the brink.
The 2025 Fall Classic is turning out to be a real classic in itself that probably deserves a Game 7!
And the Captain’s bold call was just the beginning
His fellow analysts quickly grabbed their oars and rowed with him.
Alex Rodriguez, his fellow Yankee, remarked, “I think to beat the champ, you gotta knock out the champ. I think they’re gonna come out fighting like the warriors that they are. I like Dodgers 4-2.” A-Rod specifically predicted a deep run from Max Muncy and Will Smith, both of whom had already delivered big hits in this series.
David Ortiz provided the biggest shock of all.
“Big Papi” had originally picked the Blue Jays to win the series and said, “I love my boy Mookie. He’s got what? — three rings? I love my people in L.A., you guys know that I love you guys. But I gotta tell you, I gotta cheer for my boy Vladdy this one time. I’ve got the Blue Jays in 7.” But this time, Ortiz flipped his pick for Game 6.
“Well, first of all, I pick the Blue Jays in seven games, but tonight, I’m doing it for my main man Mookie [Betts]. He gonna have a hell of a game today. Dodgers 7-3.”
We know Ortiz loves everything that comes from Boston, and Mookie, the original product of Boston. He has had 3 rings and was an MVP before, but was batting a 3-for-23 (.130) for the whole World Series this season with zero extra-base hits or RBIs and a .648 OPS throughout the whole postseason.
When talking about the Dodgers’ loss in the last game, he even admitted, “I don’t want to speak for anybody else, but for me, personally, I’ve just been terrible. I’ve been terrible and I wish it was from lack of effort, I really do, but it’s not. So, I don’t have any answers.”
And in the third of Game 6, Betts finally delivered. With bases loaded, he got a fastball up in the zone and shot through the infield’s left side for a two-run single that scored Smith and Ohtani. The skipper took note of the play and didn’t waste time praising the man.
“Hopefully he can build off that confidence. I know that’s a big weight off his shoulders. He finally got a pitch he could hit.”
