Derek Jeter has dedicated himself to family life since retiring from baseball. The New York Yankees legend is raising his children, similar to how he and his wife were raised. Jeter shares some updates on his kids on social media semi-regularly. Most recently, his sister Sharlee Jeter joked about buying her youngest niece a present that may have expensive consequences.

Sharlee has one son, but no daughters. So it’s understandable that she’d want to spoil her nieces a bit. But she recently joked about buying a present that might make her niece indulge in expensive spending habits. 

Sharlee Jeter joked about buying a handbag-inspired crib for her youngest niece

Derek Jeter and his sister Sharlee Jeter have a very close relationship. The two have been that way since childhood, due to a strict upbringing. Even today, they enjoy spending time together as a family. Most recently, Sharlee joked about buying a crib with handbags hanging over the baby. This could influence Derek’s youngest daughter River, the almost 2-year-old that Sharlee wanted to buy it for. The Yankees legends sister shared it in an Instagram Story.

In the story, she said, “I still have time to get this for my youngest niece”. Sharlee also attached three laughing emojis to convey the joke. She is extremely fond of her brother and his family, so it would not be surprising if she did buy it.

Most recently, Derek and Sharlee organized the Derek Jeter Invitational together. The event has been a huge success as the two siblings collaborate. The guest list included some top celebrities and serious acting talent. Furthermore, Busta Rhymes lit up the stage with one of the world’s fastest rap verses. Notably, the Yankees’ legendary shortstop kicked off the main event in style.

Derek Jeter took the first swing of the Celebrity Golf Tournament

The Celebrity Golf Tournament is the biggest part of the Derek Jeter Invitational. Derek Jeter kicked it off in style by taking the first swing himself. Many celebrities and stars participated in the charity event. Funds raised will go directly toward Jeter’s Turn 2 Foundation. Last year, the event contributed more than $1 million directly to the Yankees legend’s foundation.
