Derek Jeter shares a very strong relationship with his sister, Sharlee Jeter. During his time with the New York Yankees and even way before that, Sharlee has been someone who always stood beside Derek, no matter what. And now, when the former Yankee is not playing baseball anymore, it’s his sister’s turn to get some limelight for the kind work she has been doing through Jeter’s Turn 2 Foundation. 

Notably, she took up the presidential post of the Turn 2 Foundation in 2010 and has elevated the Yankee legend’s foundation, bringing it to the next level. Sharlee has changed lives and was recently honored. The Turn 2 President received an award named after MLB Icon Jackie Robinson.

Sharlee Jeter was given the Jackie Robinson and Community Impact Award

Since taking the role of President at Turn 2 Foundation, Sharlee Jeter has taken the foundation to the next level. She has brought in investment and used that to make a positive change in the community. Furthermore, she has helped hundreds of children reach their full potential through scholarships and Leadership Programs. The One Hundred Black Men organization recognized Sharlee’s impact and gave her the Jackie Robinson and Community Impact Award. She thanked them for the honor via an Instagram post.

In the post, she said, “I am truly honored to have been part of this amazing event to support such necessary work.” Sharlee also shared Turn 2’s post announcing her receiving the award, saying, “Congratulations to #Turn2 President Sharlee Jeter for being honored by One Hundred Black Men during its 60th Anniversary Gala. Recognized for her commitment to creating positive change, Sharlee received the Jackie Robinson and Community Impact Award. Held at Lincoln Center, the special event celebrated One Hundred Black Men’s 60-year legacy and profound impact on the Black community.”

Derek Jeter and Sharlee Jeter grew up in a tight-knit family and have been close since childhood. The Yankee legend has always been extremely protective of his family, especially during his career. This includes his sister, who he tried to keep away from any trouble or controversy.
