One team after missing the playoffs had dealt with a bunch of question marks. The New York Yankees had a bad 2023 season and as the front office has stated with vague intentions, change is coming. One of the major problems the Bombers faced last season was their starting pitching rotation. Except for Gerrit Cole and Clarke Schmidt, no player performed too well. However, bringing in the Japanese slugger will possibly solve the problem. The 29-year-old did suffer a torn UCL, but after recovery, he’s expected to return to good form by many.

Not to forget, the former Angels player is unquestionably the best in the league. A good pitcher and an excellent hitter, players like Ohtani don’t come the league’s way too often. If he’s available in free agency, the Yankees should not think twice even with the mammoth contract of $500 million.

Lastly, the Pinstripes fanbase isn’t too happy with the Yankees after 2023’s errors. This bust season made fans question the team’s every move but one thing is sure, seeing Ohtani in pinstripes will make them smile. After a season like 2023, taking the risk of signing a paycheck of $500 million will be worth a reward.
