Derek Jeter has never been one for the media. His strict avoidance of talking about anything that had to do with his personal life was well known. The former New York Yankees slugger was all about baseball, always, and it irritated reporters to no end. Now that he’s retired, Jeter’s media-averse nature has mellowed a bit. But in a true match made in heaven, his supermodel wife is just like him.

Hannah Davis and Derek Jeter got married in 2016 and to this day, fans only know a few details from their special day. Among that rare breed that is not fond of sharing their daily lives on social media, the couple always keeps to themselves. But in a recent interview, they gave a glimpse into what July 9, 2016, was like.

Derek Jeter and Hannah Davis’ ‘Very Small’ wedding featured Boys II Men

Insisting on keeping the whole affair limited to a few guests, the Jeters got married in a private ceremony at Meadowood Napa Valley Resort in St. Helena, California. But a few photographers still found their way around the venue, showing the beautiful couple all dressed up in smiles. While not much is known about the day, Derek and Hannah recently gave an overview of some highlights.

After the couple said, “I do,” who would be up on stage performing but one of their favorite bands? “‘I mean, Boyz II Men performing at our wedding was pretty good,’ says Derek, Hannah adding the R&B group is ‘one of our favorites,'” reports PEOPLE magazine. “‘That was a highlight,’ Derek says.” Boyz II Men has long been a staple of the American R&B/ Soul music scene. And it’s no wonder the Jeter couple loves them.

Hannah and Derek almost disappeared from the public eye for a while recently and there was good reason. Until this summer, they were parents to three young daughters. The whole family traveled with the retired shortstop to London for an MLB analyst stint. A few months later, the Jeters announced that they were new parents, to a baby boy this time!

Familiar with being a girl dad, Jeter is now navigating new waters

Being a parent is one of the most difficult jobs in the world and the Jeter couple understands it well. While Derek Jeter has always had his three girls, Bella, Story, and River, there is now a son, Kaius. “It’s been different for me because I have a younger sister and then we had three girls, while Hannah had a brother,” the former Captain tells PEOPLE. “So having a boy is a little different for me. But he’s been great so far.”
